Register Now For Sequoia NJB Teams!

If your child is between grades 1-8 and looking to improve their skills, make new friends, and engage in friendly competition with players from around the state, then register now for the NJB Winter League!
Registration for the Sequoia chapter of this league is now open at the website. Go to www.sequoianjb.com.
Our chapter provides the following basketball programs:
ROOKIE LEAGUE:
Girls and boys in first grade through fourth grade will receive high level, high energy, fundamental basketball instruction powered by Team Esface and participate in scrimmage games. Rookies practice and scrimmage one 90-minute session per week for 10 consecutive weeks on Friday evenings from 5:00pm until 6:30pm beginning September 14, 2012 through November 16, 2012.

ROOKIE LEAGUE FEES:
$225
DIVISIONAL LEAGUE:
Players participate in a mandatory evaluation in October and are drafted onto a team of 10 players coached by volunteers. Players participate in 2 – 1 hour practices each week beginning the week of October 20, 2012. Teams will play about 9 Sunday games against other Division teams within the NJB Silicon Valley Section, including a playoff tournament, from December 2, 2012 through March 24, 2013. Each player is guaranteed to play 2 of the 5 periods in each game. Some players will be eligible to play in an additional All Stars tournament at the end of the season. Divisional league is comprised of all boy teams and all girl teams. No coed teams.
There are three divisions: third and fourth graders play in Division 3, fifth and sixth graders play in Division 2, and seventh and eighth graders play in Division 1. The number of teams formed depends upon the number of players who register and the availability of local gyms for practices.
ALL NET LEAGUE:
Players participate in a mandatory evaluation in September and are selected to be on a team coached by an AAU or high school level coach. Players participate in a minimum of 2 – 2 hour practices each week beginning the week of October 1, 2012. Teams will play 12 Sunday games against other All Net teams within the NJB Silicon Valley Section, including a playoff tournament, from December 2, 2012 through March 24, 2013. Players are not guaranteed playing time during a game. There will likely be only 4 all boy teams. One for each grade: 5th grade through 8th
grade.
DIVISIONAL/ALL NET EVALUATIONS:
All players MUST be registered BEFORE evaluation. Players are only required to attend one evaluation. See website for details regarding the time and location.

ADDITIONAL FEES:
All Net players will be charged an additional $300.

Congratulations to Team Esface Sequoia All-Net 8th Grade for their Back-To-Back Silicon Valley Regional Championship! Another trophy added to the collection! Game was played on March 11, 2011.

Congratulations to the Sequoia NJB D3 team (3rd and 4th graders) that won their league championship to wrap up their 2011 season!!
Head Coach Scott Norton, friend and supporter of Team Esface for years with several kids in our year round programs, had elite Team Esface trainers (including Coach Dele, Coach Remi and Coach Manny) work with his boys every other week to ensure his team continued to developed their skills and basketball IQ throughout the season, setting them apart from their competition.
The Journey: These young ball players started off strong decent, losing a couple close matches to formidable opponents but continued to work towards success, staying hungry and staying esface all along. Mid-season, they lost one of their key big men but somehow maintained their valiant, competitive fire until he rejoined them right before playoffs. They embraced him as their brother and proceeded to defeat team after team until ultimately winning it all and being awarded their first serious piece of hardware, the Silicon Valley Gold trophies that you see held by their star point guard below.

Sequoia NJB All-Net 7th and 8th Graders win The 8th Annual Holiday Hoops Tourney!

Team Esface sponsored Sequoia NJB All Net 7th and 8th Grade teams entered the Bulldawgs 8th Annual Holiday Hoops Tourney Dec 3rd and 4th and made some noise.
The 8th Graders (with some 7th graders) faced Park Side with stand out guard Eddie Stansberry for the final game Sunday afternoon. Stansberry had an awesome performance but it wasn’t enough to keep the 8th grade Sequoia NJB team from taking the W. Congrats on another trophy for the 8th graders who are now on the journey to hopefully win their 2nd back to back national championship in the NJB league. Stay Hungry. Stay Esface.

Sequoia NJB Mid-Peninsula’s Rookie League Powered by Team Esface is featured in the September issue of the “Our Schools, Our Town” Magazine circulating through Redwood City schools and community centers. The magazine was created by the Redwood City School District in collaboration with the Redwood City Education Foundation to help streamline the flyer/announcement system that was previously ineffective by flooding parents with several flyers typically lost. This is the electronic issue featured online.

The sixth annual After School Club returns with the Team Esface staff that brings you high-level, high energy training year round. The school year is underway and serious ball players are gearing up for the upcoming basketball season, doing all they can to gain & maintain that edge. This year’s Fundamental Formula and Team Esface Levels system will address all aspects of the game and push every athlete’s game to higher heights.
