Definition: Dignity, seriousness

Michael Jordan exemplified gravitas. He is a 6 time NBA champion, 6 time NBA finals MVP, 5 time NBA MVP, 14 time NBA All Star and has achieved many more awards. He also won a NCAA championship. Having gravitas is an important part of becoming the best player you can be. 

1. Who else in the NBA exemplifies gravitas? Give some examples of them showing gravitas. 

2. Did you personally show any gravitas in this week of Hoop Camp? Give examples.

Life Lesson (Intangible): Responsibility

Definition: Holding yourself accountable for your own actions; being responsible for your designated task/job

Responsibility is essential for a winning team. Being responsible for yourself and making sure you are doing the right things. And the next step is then being responsible for your teammates and making sure they are working hard and doing the right things. 

1. What type of responsibilities do you think you have as a member of a basketball team? 

2. Who won the NBA MVP this year? How did they show responsibility? 

Bonus Question: What were your top three moments of the coaches game today? List in order.

Definition: Activity or experience that provides mental or physical training; being strict in your training to do the appropriate thing

Being disciplined is not easy and requires a lot of hard work and mental toughness to conquer the task in front of you.

Life Lesson (Intangible): Humility

When you are a part of a team, the success of the team becomes greater than the success of yourself. Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs is one of the most humble basketball players in the NBA today. He stays focused and locked in on what he can do to help his team win (scoring, getting rebounds, playing great defense).

1. Do you think it is an easy task to be humble or display humility?
